Laminated timber of various lengths is the basis for the construction, and formulates a building type which appears different from each angle, and positions itself well both in the surroundings as well as to the existing building. The traditional building materials are newly interpreted: shingles refer to the strong craftsmanship present in the region, and the potential for existing know-how to work with future-oriented technologies.
Computerized production methods have led to a different offering for the consumer. Instead of mere off - the - shelf items resulting from a mechanical, serial production, individual demands can be met. For the computerized machinery it is insignificant whether for example individual elements are produced with the same length or in various lengths. The different production methods will lead to new appearances and aesthetics, with variation replacing repetition.
This project experiments with such changing circumstances, in which variation offers an unknown diversity in design. This is done, however, in the context of technical feasibility, and on the basis of economic sensibility, for which wood offers an excellent foundation as a building material.
