The aim of the competition is to create a "built environment" that encourages a positive learning atmosphere for pupils and teachers.
The various functions of the school are split into two separate buildings.
Firstly, the after-school center helps to formulate the plaza like entrance area. The curved facade guides people into the courtyard, which directs people to all the key functions. Internally the top floor is made accessible for the handicapped via a ramp. The cladding is covered with horizontal battens, which open up at several places interesting lighting patterns
Secondly the upper-level school is constructed as an extension of the existing building, but allowing the difference between old and new to be clearly visible. Based on the existing buildings, the upper school tract of the building will be constructed, as a solid structure with curtainwalls. Two entwined volumes, one with a wooden facade, the other with aluminum create separate space in the building.
